Placement: They do well both indoors and outdoors.
Water Requirement: Ferns need to be watered regularly, but not too often. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Fern’s dislikes drying out completely.
Sunlight Requirement: They are adapted to the dappled sunlight of the forest floor. So make sure your fern is getting enough bright, filtered light to thrive—be careful to avoid full midday sun—otherwise, they will get yellow fronds or quickly begin to turn brown.
Vaastu Shastra Importance: Ferns symbolize the earth’s element & provide positive vibrations & energy to create peace & harmony. Also, according to Vaastu Shastra, the fern is linked to wealth & prosperity & should be placed in meditation rooms or other peaceful areas.
Fertilizer: Ferns can be fertilised every two weeks during spring and summer, the growing season. Use a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Pruning: Prune your ferns to keep them looking neat and healthy. Cut back any dead or dying leaves and stems with clean scissors. Once the leaves have turned brown and crispy they won’t return to green, so it’s best to chop them off.
